NASSCOM organises CSR Leadership Conference

Apex IT body, the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) Foundation on Tuesday connected more than 140 corporate social responsibility (CSR) leaders and 150 NGOs at its CSR Leadership Conference.

“NASSCOM Foundation finds itself in a unique position, wherein it is the creator, aggregator and disseminator of the CSR knowledge and envisions itself to play a pivotal rolea to complement the India development agenda,” said NASSCOM Foundation chairman Ganesh Natarajan in a statement. India’s ambitious targets of Digital India, Skill India, Beti Bachao Beti Padao, Swach Bharath, Make in India are its goals aligned to the international Sustainable Development Goals in 2016, the statement said.

“For CSR to meaningfully contribute to national goals and finance social development in India, companies would be required to build capacities to understand and prioritise the need areas and focus efforts to maximize long term sustainable impact. “Signaling business-like evolution, IT companies are increasingly deploying technology on cloud and mobile platforms to manage and monitor their CSR activities, the statement said.
