The Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conclave 2026 was held on September 29 in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, where young entrepreneurs presented a range of inventive solutions aimed at transforming traditional practices in agriculture and food processing. The event took place at the Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya and was attended by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, who interacted with the innovators. This platform highlighted the potential of technology-driven products to support small businesses and women-led initiatives.

Among the notable exhibits was a cutting-edge food dryer created by Milind Vasnik, the founder of Future Leaf Technology. Designed specifically for small businesses and women’s self-help groups, this machine allows for the efficient drying of food items like papad, pickles, and fruits while maintaining their quality. Vasnik explained that this innovation was conceived to solve issues related to traditional sun-drying methods, which often lead to deteriorated product quality.

Vasnik elaborated on the operational features of the food dryer, named Air Leaf. It employs energy-efficient heating and advanced air circulation techniques, ensuring uniform drying of food products. The machine is not only time-saving but also uses minimal electricity, enabling operations throughout the year regardless of weather conditions. This inclusive approach aims to empower individuals seeking to establish food-related businesses.

Noteworthy Innovations in Grain Analysis

Another significant feature of the conclave was the introduction of Grain Scope, an AI-driven grain analysis tool developed by Sanskar, founder of Grain Cart. This device assesses the quality of rice and wheat and relays real-time reports via WhatsApp, boasting a 99 per cent accuracy rate. According to Sanskar, the analyser provides detailed assessments of grain characteristics, including size, impurities, colour, and damage, with results available within ten seconds.

The analyser can handle grain samples ranging from 10 to 50 grams. Sanskar noted that it can additionally identify if different rice varieties have been mixed in the sample. Established in 2022, the company has collaborated with renowned institutions such as NRDC and IIT Kharagpur and has garnered a client base exceeding 300 industry stakeholders.

He highlighted the supportive role of the Chhattisgarh government, stating that they regularly engage in discussions about financial and technical challenges, which facilitates tailored assistance for their needs. This collaborative dynamic between government and entrepreneurs is crucial for fostering innovation in the region.

Government Support for Young Entrepreneurs

In his address, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai acknowledged the state’s commitment to enhancing opportunities for young innovators. He referenced the recently inaugurated Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Incubation Centre, which is designed to nurture startups and promote new agricultural technologies. This facility is expected to bolster the agricultural sector not just in Chhattisgarh but also across India.

During his talk, Sai also discussed his interactions with students and visits to university laboratories, emphasising the importance of research and development in agricultural advancements. He reiterated Chhattisgarh’s reputation as the rice bowl of India, stressing that the support services provided to farmers in the state are among the most beneficial in the country.

The conclave successfully gathered young entrepreneurs focused on developing innovative solutions for food processing, grain testing, and agricultural methodologies. The goal is to extend these technologies to farmers, women’s groups, and micro-businesses, assisting in significant improvements in the agricultural landscape of the region.
