With a strong commitment to transforming Uttar Pradesh into a state with world-class connectivity, the Yogi government is setting unprecedented benchmarks for development. Reflecting the vision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, an impressive 76 bridge projects were completed within a single financial year 2024-25 by the Uttar Pradesh State Bridge Corporation Limited under the Public Works Department.
These projects were executed with uncompromising quality standards and include 43 river bridges, 28 Road Over Bridges (ROBs), and 5 flyovers. This marks a record achievement in infrastructure development.
Infrastructure Development
Beyond this year’s achievements, CM Yogi’s tenure has been marked by continued infrastructure progress. Over the last eight years, a total of 471 bridge projects have been successfully completed by the Uttar Pradesh State Bridge Corporation Limited. This includes 313 river bridges, 143 ROBs, and 15 flyovers—ensuring improved regional connectivity across the state.
Turnover increased 2.5 times
Alongside these achievements, the financial performance of UPSBCL has also seen remarkable growth. According to data from the Public Works Department, the Corporation’s turnover has significantly increased during CM Yogi’s tenure. From ₹1,013.74 crore in 2017-18, the turnover rose to ₹1,360.34 crore in 2018-19. The trend continued with further growth in subsequent years—₹1,511.18 crore in 2019-20, ₹1,936.92 crore in 2020-21, and ₹1,959.33 crore in 2021-22. Although there was a marginal dip in 2022-23 to ₹1,946 crore, the Corporation bounced back with record turnovers of ₹2,376 crore in 2023-24 and ₹2,583 crore in 2024-25.
Overall, the turnover has increased 2.5 times since 2017-18, underlining the Corporation’s expanding capacity and efficiency.
Detailed reports underway
To sustain and build on this momentum, UPSBCL has prepared a comprehensive action plan for the construction and development of upcoming bridge projects across the state. As per CM Yogi’s directives, detailed reports have been compiled for all 10 administrative divisions, identifying ongoing and planned works.
Under this roadmap, the focus in the financial year 2025-26 will be on completing priority projects that promise maximum benefit to the regional population, ensuring that development is both strategic and inclusive.
