In a significant move to strengthen healthcare delivery in underserved regions, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has sanctioned ₹9.80 crore for upgrading medical infrastructure in 14 government hospitals across Uttar Pradesh. The decision aligns with the state’s long-term blueprint, ‘Viksit UP 2047’, which aims to ensure that every district has access to advanced, high-quality healthcare facilities.
Improving Access in Rural and Backward Districts
The latest funding gives priority to areas where diagnostic services and modern equipment remain limited. With this investment, patients from rural, remote, and economically weaker regions will no longer need to travel to major cities for essential tests or specialized treatment. The move is expected to significantly reduce the load on Lucknow’s central hospitals and other tertiary medical centres across the state.
Detailed Allocation Across Districts
According to the government’s approval order, the funds will be distributed among several district hospitals for the procurement of modern medical tools, diagnostic machines, and essential healthcare upgrades.

₹2.70 crore for Ramsagar Mishra Joint Hospital, Sadhamau BKT
-
₹1.52 crore for District Women’s Hospital, Balrampur
