Vivo X300 Ultra Unveiled with Advanced Camera Technology, Launch in India Expected Soon

Vivo has officially launched its highly anticipated flagship smartphone, the Vivo X300 Ultra, in China. This device makes headlines as the world’s first smartphone to incorporate dual 200-megapixel cameras, featuring a primary sensor designed for optimal light capture along with a telephoto lens that includes gimbal-like stabilization. The X300 Ultra was launched alongside the Vivo X300s and marks Vivo’s inaugural Ultra model in the X-series aimed at international markets. The smartphone is anticipated to launch in India around May, possibly coinciding with the release of the Vivo X300 FE.

Specifications and Features

The Vivo X300 Ultra boasts a 6.82-inch 2K LTPO AMOLED display that offers a refresh rate of 144Hz. This display is HDR10+ compatible and comes with 2160Hz PWM dimming for enhanced brightness control, minimizing eye strain. Powering the device is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, available with configurations of up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.1 storage. It runs on Android 16, coupled with Origin OS 6. The phone also features an Ice Pulse Fluid VC cooling system that reportedly improves heat dissipation by 14% and employs a vapor chamber that is 22% larger than its predecessors.

Camera Capabilities

Focusing on photography, the X300 Ultra comes equipped with a 200-megapixel primary camera, utilizing the Sony LYTIA 901 sensor to enhance light capture while minimizing reflections. Accompanying this is a 200-megapixel Samsung HP0 telephoto camera, known for its gimbal-like stabilization, allowing for smooth zoom shots. The camera system is completed with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera featuring the Sony LYTIA 818 sensor and optical image stabilization (OIS). Additionally, Vivo offers two external teleconverter modules: the Zeiss G2 Teleconverter, which provides a 200mm focal length with approximately 8.7x optical zoom, and the Zeiss G2 Ultra Teleconverter, extending to 400mm through a sophisticated 15-element optical design.

Battery and Durability

The smartphone houses a substantial 6600 mAh battery that supports 90W wired charging, 40W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging capabilities. Furthermore, it holds IP68 and IP69 ratings, signifying strong dust and water resistance. The Vivo X300 Ultra is available in three distinct color options: Film Green, Silver Tone, and Black. The pricing for the base model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage starts at 6,999 yuan (approximately Rs 95,021), while the higher-end version with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage is priced at 11,999 yuan (around Rs 1,62,858). Pre-orders have begun in China, with sales set to commence from April 3.

Vivo X300s Overview

The Vivo X300s features a slightly smaller 6.78-inch flat AMOLED display with a resolution of 1.5K, also supporting a 144Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 4500 nits. This model is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, available with either 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and storage options reaching up to 1TB with UFS 4.1. It runs Android 16 paired with OriginOS 6. In terms of camera specifications, the Vivo X300s includes a Zeiss-certified 200-megapixel primary camera backed by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and another 50-megapixel periscope telephoto sensor. The front-facing camera is a 50-megapixel unit for selfies. Operating on a 7100 mAh battery, it also supports fast charging at 90W and includes wireless charging options. The starting price for the X300s is set at 4,999 yuan (approximately Rs 67,894) for the base variant and scales upwards based on RAM and storage configurations. This model is also available for pre-order with sales beginning on April 3, mirroring the launch of the X300 Ultra.
