In a significant development Uttar Pradesh’s municipal bodies collected a total revenue of ₹5,568 crore in the financial year 2024-25. Following the collection the registered revenue shows an impressive growth of 44.5%.
Total revenue collected in major municipal corporations
According to reorts, 17 major municipal corporations under the Urban Development Department collected a total revenue of ₹4,586 crore. This makes the total 11% more than the target of ₹4,140 crore.
Meanwhile, the revenue growth of small towns was higher than that of big cities. Mathura recorded a spectacular growth of 106% and Jhansi 85%.

Ghaziabad recorded a 336% increase in non-tax revenue, while Moradabad saw a 29% decline.

According to the data from all 762 state urban local bodies, including municipal corporations, municipal councils, and nagar panchayats, show a consistent upward trend in revenue collection over the last four years.
