A 33-year-old Indian woman working in Dublin, Ireland, made a thought provoking post on Reddit recently, opening a wave of conversation on social media. Her post titled ‘Return to India’ talked about her life abroad, work culture, compensation and her urge to move back home after spending years overseas.
She wrote on subreddit, that she is a 33-year-old single working professional currently based in Dublin, Ireland. She introduced herself, “Hi all, I am a single working woman 33(F), I am working in Ireland- Dublin in US MNC.” She further wrote that life abroad is comfortable, compensation is good and even the work culture is great, but there is something she misses.
She wrote, “While everything is nice – package/people etc – but since my role is Sales, I find it so hard to connect with people in my team,” she explained. Over time, this disconnect led her to reflect on her professional trajectory and sense of belonging. Talking about her next phase of career, she writes, “now realised that it may not be necessarily racism but more of human nature.”
