Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Specifications Revealed Ahead of July Launch

The CSR Journal Magazine

Samsung is set to unveil its latest foldable device, the Galaxy Z Fold 8, in July, aligning its release with that of its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Recent listings on a certification website in China have confirmed the upcoming launch alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 8. Early indications suggest that both devices will feature improved charging capabilities compared to earlier models.

Expected Features and Specifications

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is anticipated to boast an impressive 8-inch folding display coupled with a 6.5-inch cover screen, both operating at a 120Hz refresh rate. The design may include dual-layer Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) technology and a laser-drilled display support plate. Powering the device is expected to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, enhancing overall performance.

In terms of camera capabilities, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is predicted to feature a primary 200-megapixel camera equipped with an 11.3-inch type sensor, complemented by a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. These improvements signal a focus on high-quality photography in the new model.

Improved Battery Life and Charging Options

The smartphone is likely to include a 5,000mAh battery, which is a significant upgrade from the 4,400mAh battery found in the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Users can expect 45W wired charging support, marking a considerable enhancement from the 25W charging capability of the previous model. Alongside these features, the device is speculated to offer three storage variants—256GB, 512GB, and 1TB—along with up to 16GB of RAM. Additionally, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is rumored to be thinner and lighter than its predecessor, addressing user feedback on portability.

Galaxy Z Fold Lineup Appears in Certification Listings

According to reports, multiple models have been listed on the China Compulsory Certification (3C) website, including model numbers SM-F9710, SM-F7760, and SM-F9760. These correspond to the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and Galaxy Z Wide Fold, indicating a comprehensive update to Samsung’s foldable lineup. The Galaxy Z Fold 7, which debuted in July 2025, showcases a similar design with an 8.0-inch foldable Dynamic LTPO AMOLED display that also supports a 120Hz refresh rate, as well as a 6.5-inch cover display.

This earlier model is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and is available with configurations that include up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The camera setup features a triple rear configuration led by a 200-megapixel primary sensor. The device is backed by a 4,400mAh battery with a 25W wired charging option and has been priced at Rs 1,74,999 in India.
