Rural students of Palghar district get smart classrooms on Children’s Day
Students of government schools and government aided schools in Palghar have an innovative educational gift this Children’s Day. About 27,000 rural children of the newly made Palghar district would be introduced to over 100 smart classroom systems.
The project is supported by the Maharashtra Education Ministry, funded by corporate houses- Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Ltd (DHFL) and JSW Steel and is implemented by an education technology startup- ConnectED Technologies.
Speaking to The wp Journal, Lehar Tawde, Co-Founder, ConnectED Technologies says, “Our smart classroom systems are very compact with solar battery and easy to use. The content is also made in a way friendly to rural teachers and students. Minute factors like speed of narration are also taken into consideration while preparing the content and the hardware tailor-made for rural population.”
Vinod Tawde, Education Minister of Maharashtra was quoted in a statement released by ConnectED Technologies as, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Digital India program with the vision to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. Education is one of the key focus areas of this program.”
The project is believed to make a positive effect on the rural students of these 24 schools in the Palghar Taluka of the new district. Smart education systems with multimedia content would help teachers in teaching in a demonstrative way.
The release quotes Kapil Wadhawan, CMD, DHFL as, “Education is the key to better living, which is why we have adopted it as a major objective under wp. On the occasion of Children’s Day it gives me immense pleasure to announce our support towards this innovative rural education project.”
