Ranveer Singh has announced his commitment to support the education of 1,000 girls as part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. This pledge was made on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, which aligned with the celebrations of Ganesh Chaturthi. The actor made this announcement during his visit to Lalbaugcha Raja pandal in Mumbai on the evening of September 17, 2026.

During his visit, Singh sought the blessings of Lord Ganesha and expressed his hope that the initiative would be well-received. His statement reflected a gratitude towards the deity, as he remarked that the previous year had brought happiness to his family, attributed to Ganesha’s blessings.

Commenting on his visit, Singh said, “It feels really good to be here. By Bappa’s grace, the past year has been filled with happiness for my family and me.” His words highlighted the significance of the occasion, combining personal gratitude with a commitment to social responsibility.

Celebrations at Lalbaugcha Raja Pandal

Sighted at the bustling pandal, Singh was dressed in a traditional white kurta-pyjama. He moved through the crowd, greeting fans and engaging with them while also offering prayers. His presence at the pandal is part of an annual tradition where he seeks blessings for his family and himself.

Expressing his joy at being part of the celebrations, he stated, “It’s great to be here. The past year has been filled with happiness for my family and me, thanks to Bappa’s blessings.” Singh’s visit is not just a cultural practice but also showcases his deep connections to community celebrations.

The Ganesh Chaturthi festivities saw numerous other celebrities joining in, reinforcing the cultural significance of the event within the film community. Singh’s participation reflects a broader trend of engagement by public figures in charitable causes during festive occasions.

Support for Educational Initiatives

The Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, to which Singh has pledged his support, aims to enhance educational opportunities for girls in India. This initiative has attracted participation from various prominent figures in the film industry. Reports indicate that alongside Singh, actors Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor have also made commitments, focusing on the refurbishment of 20 schools across the country.

These actions by Bollywood stars are part of a larger movement to address educational disparities and promote empowerment among young women in India. Such initiatives highlight the role of artists as advocates for social change, leveraging their influence for philanthropic purposes.

Singh’s pledge comes at a personal time, as he prepares to welcome his second child with wife Deepika Padukone. This moment in his life adds an additional layer of significance to his educational commitment, as he reflects on the importance of providing opportunities for the next generation.

On a professional note, following the successful reception of his recent film Dhurandhar, Singh is set to appear in Jay Mehta’s upcoming project, Pralay. His career continues to flourish, while simultaneously he embraces opportunities to give back to society through initiatives like the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.
