Rahul Gandhi Launches ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ Campaign in Indore

The CSR Journal Magazine

Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, recently unveiled his campaign titled ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’, scheduled for September 19 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. This announcement was made on September 10 through a post on X, where Gandhi directed his message towards students, youth, and India’s Generation Z. He emphasised that the nation is observing their struggles amid what he claims is a failing education system.

In his address, the Congress Member of Parliament highlighted the perceived inadequacies of the education sector, alleging that it has dampened the hopes of the youth and jeopardised their futures. He stated, “My dear students, youth, and India’s Gen Z, the entire country is watching as a broken education system has extinguished the flame of your hopes.”

During this campaign, Gandhi plans to connect with students across various cities to grasp the challenges they face. He expressed the importance of listening to their voices and opinions in order to facilitate meaningful reforms within the educational framework.

Objectives and Goals of ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’

The ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ initiative was launched by Congress leaders in 2026 with a specific aim: to create a platform for students to voice their concerns regarding issues such as exam malpractices, paper leaks, and increasing educational costs. According to Gandhi, the campaign seeks to address the pressing problems that students encounter amid rising unemployment and recruitment challenges.

Gandhi called on students to articulate their problems and suggestions via a link shared in his post, stating, “Your problems. Your suggestions. Together, we will bring hope back.” This interaction aims to foster a dialogue between students and political leadership, prioritising the voices of the youth in national discourse.

The campaign is designed to make student-related issues a prominent subject in political discussions, thereby bringing attention to their narratives and struggles. With engagements in multiple cities, including Pune, Kota, Dehradun, and Prayagraj, ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ aims to maintain momentum and reach a broader youth audience.

Upcoming Events and Previous Engagements

Scheduled for September 19, the Indore event will mark another significant step in the ongoing ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ campaign. As students prepare to participate, the expectation is that their voices will resonate in the political arena, shedding light on the difficulties they face within the educational system.

Previous iterations of this campaign have successfully engaged students in key educational hubs across India. Each event is structured to facilitate open discussions, enabling students to share their experiences and perspectives directly with political representatives.

By continuing to host these gatherings, Gandhi aims to cultivate an environment where educational issues can be thoroughly examined and addressed. The ultimate goal is to inspire systemic change to enhance the educational landscape and empower the younger generation to reclaim their hopes for a brighter future.
