Rabri Devi will have to vacate residence: Bihar Home Minister Samrat Choudhary

The CSR Journal Magazine

The new government of Bihar had recently given notice to former Chief Minister Rabri Devi to vacate the government bungalow located at 10 Circular Road. After this, on behalf of RJD, their state president Mangani Lal Mandal had said that no matter what happens, they will not leave the house. On his statement, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, who is now handling the Home Department in the Nitish government, has given a strong reaction. When he was asked about the bungalow in a private TV channel’s program on Thursday, he clearly said that no matter what happens, the former Chief Minister will have to vacate the Rabri residence under any circumstances.

Public owns government bungalow: Samrat Choudhary

Answering the question regarding the bungalow, the Home Minister said that the owner of the government house is the public, it is not anyone’s inheritance. It will have to be evacuated. During this, he said that he has no personal fight with the family of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav. But the Supreme Court has ordered that former Chief Ministers cannot get government bungalows. In such a situation, former CM Rabri Devi has got the house which has been categorized as the Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council. Therefore now he will have to vacate the circular 10 bungalow.

I changed 6 houses in 28 years: Samrat

Giving his own example, Home Minister Chaudhary said that everyone’s house has been changing in Bihar. He also had to change 6 houses in the last 28 years. At the same time, he termed the statement of RJD state president Mangani Lal Mandal as ‘do whatever you want, will not vacate the camp’ as words of anarchy. He alleged that RJD people are anarchists and hooligans. How can they say that they will not leave the government accommodation?

A bigger house is being offered: Samrat

When the Home Minister was questioned about the size of the bungalow, he said that it is the job of the government to respect the leader of the opposition party and Nitish Kumar’s government does not shy away from giving respect to anyone. Being such a leader of opposition, Rabri Devi has been allotted a bigger bungalow than before by the government. During the allotment of the bungalow, full care has been taken that they do not have to face any problem.

Bungalow will have to be vacated within 30 days

According to government rules, any person holding any government post gets 30 days to vacate the government bungalow allotted to him after the completion of his service. In such a situation, Rabri Devi will have to vacate the bungalow within 30 days of receiving the notice.

Lalu family has been living in 10 circular bungalow since January 2006

Let us tell you that after the defeat in the assembly elections in 2005, Chief Minister Rabri Devi was allotted a bungalow next to CM residence, 1 Anne Marg, to live in. After this, in January 2006, Rabri Devi shifted to live in this bungalow with her entire family and since then her entire family has been living in this bungalow for about 20 years.
