The production team of the upcoming film Ramayana has officially started shooting Part 2. Reports indicate that filming has been taking place indoors for a while, reflecting a steady advancement in the ambitious project. This update follows the recent reveal of the first look featuring Ranbir Kapoor in the role of Lord Rama, coinciding with the celebration of Hanuman Jayanti.

Focus on Visual Effects in Post-Production

Insiders connected to the film have shared that the post-production phase for Ramayana: Part 1 is currently in progress, with particular emphasis on visual effects. At the same time, filming for Part 2 has already kicked off. The film’s extensive reliance on visual effects necessitates much of the current shooting to occur in controlled indoor environments, enabling greater precision in visual element creation.

Creative Team and Technology Behind Ramayana

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, Ramayana aims to deliver a groundbreaking cinematic interpretation of the ancient epic attributed to sage Valmiki. The visual effects are being crafted by DNEG, an eight-time Oscar-winning studio, in collaboration with Monster Mind Creations. This combination is expected to enhance the film’s visual storytelling exponentially.

Cast and Release Schedule for Ramayana

The cast of Ramayana includes notable actors such as Ravie Dubey portraying Lakshman, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol taking on the role of Hanuman, and Yash as Ravana, among others. The film is planned for a two-part release, with Part 1 scheduled for Diwali 2026 and Part 2 anticipated for a 2027 launch.
