Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated a two-day international conference titled “The Future of Environment and Climate Dynamics” in New Delhi on September 19, 2026. The event is organised by the National Green Tribunal at Vigyan Bhawan, highlighting significant global concerns regarding the environment and climate change.

The conference will take place over two days, ending on September 20. It seeks to address various challenges in environmental law and climate policy, bringing together a diverse group of stakeholders from India and abroad.

The inaugural session featured notable attendees, including Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant, Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav, Attorney General R. Venkataramani, and NGT Chairperson Justice Prakash Shrivastava, among others. Their participation signifies the importance of judicial oversight in environmental issues.

Participation and International Representation

The conference has attracted participation from various environmental experts, judges from the Supreme Court and High Courts, district court judges, and senior government officials. The concluding session on September 20 will feature President Droupadi Murmu and other distinguished officials, including Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs and Power Manohar Lal, and Supreme Court Judge Justice P.S.
