Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be distributing more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited individuals at the 20th Rozgar Mela. This event is scheduled for September 19 and will take place virtually. The Prime Minister plans to address the selected candidates via video conferencing, providing a significant boost to their career prospects in various government sectors.

Rozgar Mela Locations and Participation

The Rozgar Mela will occur at 45 different locations across India. Newly appointed candidates will have opportunities within several Ministries and Departments such as the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and the Ministry of Defence. This nationwide initiative reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing employment avenues for the youth.

With the upcoming Rozgar Mela, a cumulative total of approximately 1.27 million individuals will have received appointment letters since the initiative began. This highlights the effectiveness of the programme in addressing unemployment among the youth in the country.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh will serve as the Chief Guest in Patna, Bihar, during the events there. The presence of Bihar Government Minister Ram Kripal Yadav, along with local MLAs Kundan Kumar and Sanjay Gupta, demonstrates the regional significance of this employment initiative, aiming to foster local job opportunities.

Additional Government Initiatives

The 20th Rozgar Mela is part of a broader governmental strategy to boost employment and skill development across various demographics. Earlier this year, the government reported the issuance of over 1.25 million recruitment letters through similar events. These efforts align with the government’s objectives of promoting women’s participation in the workforce and facilitating gender-inclusive growth.

In addition to the Rozgar Mela, the Ministry of Labour and Employment has launched the National Career Service (NCS) Portal. This one-stop platform aims to provide comprehensive career services, making it easier for job seekers to access valuable resources and opportunities. This innovative approach reflects the government’s dedication to simplifying the job search process.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is also working to upskill job seekers in the IT sector through the ‘FutureSkills PRIME’ programme. This initiative is aimed at enhancing the employability of candidates by providing them with essential skills, thereby preparing them for the demands of a rapidly evolving job market.
