A 21-year-old individual is at the center of a disturbing case in Lucknow, where he allegedly shot his father, dismembered the body, and concealed it in a blue drum inside their residence. The deceased, identified as Manvendra Pratap Singh, was the owner of Vardhman Pathology. His remains were discovered at their home, following a missing person investigation initiated after he was reported missing on February 20.

Investigation Unfolds

Authorities began probing Singh’s disappearance after his family had not seen him for several days. As part of the investigation, police interrogated his son, Akshat Pratap Singh, a B Com student. Initially, Akshat informed his mother that his father had taken his own life. However, during persistent questioning, he reportedly admitted to murdering his father.

Confession and Aftermath

According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Vikrant Veer, the son disclosed that the shooting occurred around 4:30 AM on February 20, following an argument between the two. Akshat expressed that he was frustrated due to pressure from his father regarding preparation for competitive examinations.

Body Disposal and Recovery Efforts

Following the alleged shooting, it is believed that Akshat transported his father’s body from the third floor of their home to a ground-floor room, where he dismembered it to hide the crime. Reports indicate that he disposed of some remains near Sadarouna while concealing others within the drum found in their residence. During a thorough search, police recovered several body parts from the ground floor.

Ongoing Investigation

In light of the shocking details, law enforcement officials, along with a forensic team, meticulously examined the crime scene. They collected various pieces of evidence to substantiate the case against Akshat Pratap Singh. The authorities have placed him under custody and are undertaking legal actions in accordance with applicable laws.
