The tipster has also shared a mock-up image that depicts how the convex display glass gently curves at the edges to align with the slim frame.

However, there may be concerns regarding the quality of images produced using this technology. Reports indicate that this cutout could shrink to approximately 13.49mm in width, a significant reduction from the estimated 20.76mm seen in the iPhone 17 Pro, representing nearly a 35% decrease. This modification is believed to be due to Apple relocating a portion of its Face ID mechanism, specifically the flood illuminator, beneath the display. By repositioning this component, the company could create additional space within the pill-shaped cutout, allowing it to maintain functionality while achieving a more compact form.
