Israeli airstrike Hit Police Station in Jabalia and Killed 10

An Israeli airstrike, which killed 10 people, hit a police station in Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip on Thursday. Local health authorities have informed that the Israeli military struck a command Centre of Hamas and the Islamic Jihad groups.

Health officials also informed that two Israeli missiles hit the police station located near the market. The strike injured many and caused the death of 10. The identification of those killed could not be done. Medics say that Israeli strikes have killed at least 34 people in separate airstrikes across the enclave, bringing the death toll to 44 by Thursday. Since the January ceasefire collapsed on March 18, Israeli forces have killed more than 19,00 Palestinians, most of them being civilians.

Statement by Israel

In a statement, the Israeli military said that they attacked a command and control centre operated by Hamas and Allied Islamic Jihad groups in Jabalia, from where militants used to plan and execute attacks against Israeli forces.

The Israeli military also accused Palestinian groups of exploiting civilians and civic property for their military purposes. This allegation has been denied by Hamas and other of its smaller actions.
