iPhone 18 Pro and Pixel 11 Series to Launch Soon with Samsung Displays

The CSR Journal Magazine

The iPhone 18 Pro and Pixel 11 series are anticipated to be launched in the coming months. Reports suggest that both flagship devices will share a commonality, as they are likely to include displays sourced from Samsung. Industry insiders indicate that Samsung is set to supply its latest M16 OLED panels for these smartphone releases. This trend of sourcing components from Samsung is consistent with previous practices by both Apple and Google.

Korean publication ETNews has reported that the M16 OLED panels are expected to feature in both the iPhone 18 Pro models and the Pixel 11 series, underscoring Samsung’s role as a key supplier in the smartphone market. This collaboration could enhance the performance of these upcoming devices, bringing advanced display technology to users shortly after release.

In addition to the iPhone 18 Pro and Pixel 11 series, Samsung’s latest display technology will reportedly also be included in other upcoming devices, such as the iPhone Fold and Galaxy S27 series, projected to launch early next year. Samsung Display holds a significant position in the market as the largest supplier of OLED panels for iPhones, solidifying its importance in Apple’s supply chain.

Improvements with M16 Panels

The shift from Samsung’s M14 to M16 OLED panels is expected to result in notable improvements in various aspects of display technology. The M14 panels have been widely used in devices released over the past two years, including models from the iPhone 16 Pro series, all versions of the iPhone 17 series, and the Pixel 10 series. However, the M16 series is projected to offer enhancements in brightness, colour accuracy, and lifespan.

While the upgrades are significant, users may find that the visible difference in screen quality is relatively minor, as the M14 panels already provide top-tier performance in terms of colour and brightness. Nevertheless, the M16 panels stand out due to their improved power efficiency, which is expected to prolong battery life and optimise performance for resource-intensive applications such as artificial intelligence tasks.

In terms of supply volume, estimations indicate that Samsung will provide approximately 50 million units of the M16 OLED panels for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max during the latter half of the year. Additionally, around ten million units are projected for the foldable iPhone, highlighting the importance of these displays in Apple’s upcoming product line.

Design Details for the Pixel 11 Pro

Furthermore, the renders indicate that the Pixel 11 Pro may have slimmer bezels compared to its predecessor. Nonetheless, these bezels may still be somewhat thicker when compared to upcoming devices, including the rumoured iPhone 18 Pro series. As the launch date approaches, more detailed specifications and design features are expected to emerge.

The Pixel 11 series is projected for an August unveiling, and the anticipation surrounding these innovations continues to grow. Consumers are eager to learn more about the advancements that both Google and Apple will bring with their upcoming models, which are poised to showcase the latest in display technology and design.
