The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) has announced a five-week online certification programme focusing on Python for Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Deep Learning (DL). This course is scheduled to run from December 14, 2026, to January 15, 2027, and will take place via Zoom. Aimed at a diverse audience, the programme offers a practical approach to gaining technical skills in these advanced fields.

Coordinated by Professor Aditya K Jagannatham, who holds the Arun Kumar Chair at IIT Kanpur, the course is oriented towards students, faculty members, industry professionals, and research and development (R&D) staff. By engaging with real-world datasets, participants will develop hands-on experience in various programming packages necessary for AI and machine learning applications.

The curriculum will encompass several modules on Python, including practical projects and problem-solving sessions aimed at facilitating skill development for real-world applications. Participants will have the opportunity to work with popular libraries such as NumPy, Linalg, Matplotlib, Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and Keras.

This certification programme welcomes a wide range of participants across multiple educational domains. Eligible applicants include students pursuing BTech, BE, BSc, BBA, BCA, as well as those enrolled in MTech, ME, MSc, MBA, and MCA programmes. Additionally, PhD scholars engaged in research can take part.

The course also targets faculty members from engineering, science, and management fields, along with professionals from the industry and R&D sectors. By focusing on strengthening Python programming skills, the course will enable participants to apply their knowledge to the burgeoning domains of AI and ML.
