IACC Organises 3rd Annual Conference on CSR
Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) is organising their 3rd Annual Conference on 11th May, 2016 will discuss “Corporate Social Responsibility Today: Issues, Challenges and New Paradigms”. Conferences have been organized since the CSR Rules were introduced under section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013. Today, the concept of CSR appears to be firmly rooted in the Indian business agenda, though with emergent challenges and issues coming to the fore.
Therefore, the focus this year is to create a platform to discuss challenges, issues and insights that can help develop effective CSR strategies to help businesses adopt ways to represent themselves as more responsible and push up their standards.
This year’s discussion agenda aims to cover the current scenario including issues and challenges in CSR and the path forward.
In the last two conferences, exceptional views and statements were expressed by Policy makers and Industry Leaders such as Maharashtra Governor C.V. Rao, Mrs. Rajshree Birla, Chairperson, Aditya Birla Foundation, Dr. Mukund Rajan, Member, Group EC, Tata Sons & Chairman Tata Global Sustainability Council, Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee, Director General & CEO, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, Ministry of Corporate Affairs and many more remarkable speakers was a source of encouragement for the participants.
This year discussion topics will broadly cover subjects and areas such as Challenges of Auditing, Transparency and Reporting in CSR, Emergence of Social Impact Investing:
Is there a case to integrate under the CSR Act?, Overcoming on-ground Capacity and Implementation challenges for large CSR fund deployment – Focus on PSUs and Large Corporates. The 2% ruling under CSR Act drives nothing more than corporate tokenism.
