Hezbollah Claims 43 Attacks on Israeli Targets Amid Border Tensions

The CSR Journal Magazine

Hezbollah’s Islamic Resistance recently announced its involvement in 43 military operations targeting Israeli positions and troop concentrations. This declaration was made public on Sunday, April 13, amidst rising tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border.

The militant group attributed these attacks to what it termed repeated violations of the ceasefire by Israel and ongoing military activities in Lebanon, according to Iranian State Media Press TV. The operations included strikes on military sites situated both along the border and deeper within territories regarded as occupied, specifically mentioning the Syrian Golan Heights and northern Israel.

Reports indicated that one notable operation involved a drone strike on a communications facility located at the Al-Alika barracks in the Golan Heights. Hezbollah claimed this attack achieved a direct hit, further asserting its resolve in taking action against Israeli military assets.

Details of the Attacks

The attacks attributed to Hezbollah also featured a drone strike against an Israeli Merkava tank near a hospital in Mays al-Jabal, Lebanon. The operations reportedly included coordinated drone assaults targeting gatherings of Israeli troops in various locations such as Al-Bayyada, Yaroun, and Kfar Yuval. In addition, rocket fire was directed towards several Israeli sites, including Kiryat Shmona and Nahariya, as well as the headquarters of Israel’s 146th Division.

Moreover, Hezbollah announced that it had conducted shelling on new Israeli positions established in southern Lebanon. The group claimed responsibility for striking multiple military sites, including surveillance and command facilities. Among these targets were the Meron air surveillance base and the Filon base positioned near Rosh Pina.

The operations reportedly occurred from the morning into the late night hours of Sunday, focusing on troop movements and military gatherings across several border towns, including Khiam, Bint Jbeil, Taybeh, and Aita al-Shaab. Hezbollah’s sustained military actions appear to be a response to escalating tensions in the region.

Impact on Casualties and Local Populations

The same report from the Ministry of Health noted that at least 6,588 people have sustained injuries over the same period. This rising number of casualties underscores the continued volatility in the region and calls attention to the ongoing suffering of civilians caught in the crossfire.

Hezbollah’s leadership asserted that the military operations are a testament to their commitment to defending Lebanon and its populace. They warned of the continuation of such actions should what they term “Israeli-American aggression” against Lebanon persist, affirming their role in the ongoing conflict.
