CSR: Goa CM Dr. Pramod Sawant awards 44 bright students with Vedanta Utkarsh Scholarship
Forty four meritorious needy students in Goa will now be able to pursue higher professional studies through the Vedanta Utkarsh Scholarship programme. The scholarship was awarded to the selected scholarship candidates, at the hands of Dr. Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister of Goa.
The Goa Chief Minister commended Vedanta’s CSR programmes and urged students to take maximum benefit of this scholarship scheme to achieve career heights.
Speaking at the ceremony. Dr. Sawant said, “I congratulate all the students who could achieve this scholarship through their hard work. I am pleased to see Vedanta consistently making efforts to help people in need through community outreach programmes. In this highly competitive world which is full of opportunities for the candidates with the right skill sets, it is very important to work hard & pursue higher quality education. I urge the people of Goa to utilize the maximum benefits of various other Govt. scholarship schemes. “
Apart from students selected for the scholarship programme, Vedanta Sesa Goa Iron Ore Business also felicitated the top three meritorious students from Govt. High school (GHS), Amona and GHS, Navelim each, under the Utkarsh Scholarship Scheme.
What is Vedanta Utkarsh Scholarship?
Vedanta Utkarsh Scholarship is awarded to those shortlisted students who are from an economically weaker background, meritorious and have performed well in academics in the last three years including extra-curricular activities. Finally, they are evaluated and selected based on one-on-one interviews. The aim of the programme is to support the local talents to overcome the financial hurdles and pursue higher studies, which could help them to secure a brighter career in the long run.
