Delhi Police Arrests Two Men and Four Juveniles in a Murder Case

A day after the naked body of a 14-year-old boy was found in Munak Canal at Haiderpur, the police has arrested two men and apprehended four juveniles on Wednesday. On Tuesday, the police recovered the naked body of the boy with a scarf wrapped around his neck and multiple stab wounds on his body. On the same day, a case under Section 103(1) (murder) and 238(b) (causing disappearance of evidence) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita or the new BNS code was registered.

“The probe revealed that the murder stemmed from a personal enmity,” said the concerned officials to the national media.

A 19-year-old boy was the first to be arrested, along with a 16-year-old juvenile was also apprehended. Further questioning led to the arrest of another 18-year-old boy, while three more juvenile boys were also subsequently apprehended.

Probe Underway

The probe led to the discovery of the fact that the 19-year-old had been nursing a grudge against the victim since last Diwali, when he was beaten up by two alleged local criminals, both currently in jail under MCOCA.

“The 19-year-old boy suspected that the victim and a couple of his friends were police informers and had connived with the two local criminals to assault him last Diwali. He was planning to take revenge for a long time. On the intervening night of June 29 and 30, the 19-year-old and 18-year-old, along with six others, executed the murder,” said the DCP (Outer North Delhi), Hareshwar Swami.

The police also stated that the group allegedly procured knives and intercepted the 14-year-old near the market to physically assault him, and then forcibly abducted him on a motorcycle.

“They then took him to the canal, gagged him with a scarf to muffle his screams, stripped him, discarded his clothes in the water, and beat him again before taking turns to stab him. Once he succumbed, they dumped his body in the canal,” said the concerned police official to the national media.

Police is currently in search of the other two suspects who are believed to have escaped to Haridwar.
