CSR News: Cyient Foundation Launches AI-Powered Skilling Hub to Drive Rural Employment in Andhra Pradesh

The CSR Journal Magazine

Cyient Foundation, the CSR arm of Cyient, announced the launch of ‘Cyient AI & Future Skills Hub’ at the Digital Bhavan, Pedamainavani Lanka in West Godavari of Andhra Pradesh, aimed at transforming the existing government facility into a model AI-enabled rural skilling and livelihood centre.

The Hub was launched by Nirmala Sitharaman, Honorable Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Government of India, in the presence of Dr. BVR Mohan Reddy, Founder Chairman, Cyient.

The Cyient AI & Future Skills Hub will empower youth, women, farmers, self-help groups and local entrepreneurs by offering future-ready skills aligned to emerging workforce demands and local livelihood opportunities. Designed to strengthen India’s AI-enabled rural transformation journey, the initiative supports national priorities including Digital India, Skill India and Viksit Bharat 2047, and serves as a high-impact example of how government infrastructure can be augmented through CSR partnerships to create scalable and inclusive development models.

Under this initiative, the centre has been enhanced with AI-enabled systems and smart classrooms, a 40-system computer lab, drone training equipment, high-speed connectivity, licensed and open-source AI tools, and a centralized Learning Management System that will enable structured training delivery, real-time tracking and outcome measurement. The Hub follows a value-addition approach by upgrading the existing Digital Bhavan infrastructure instead of duplicating facilities.

Through the National Skills Qualifications Framework-aligned and industry-relevant curricula, the Hub will offer three future-ready skill pathways, namely AI-Enabled Digital and IT Literacy, AI-Driven Digital Marketing and E-Commerce, and Agri-Tech and Aqua-Tech (Drone Operations). Each track will be delivered through a 12-week training model with a strong emphasis on practical learning, built around a 60 per cent hands-on and 40 per cent AI-assisted theory approach. Participants will be supported through certification and placement, or facilitated into self-employment, to ensure job readiness and sustained livelihood outcomes.

The initiative is designed to train more than 300 participants every year through structured batches. It aims to achieve a minimum 75 per cent employment or self-employment outcome, enabling participants to access income-generating opportunities in digital services, e-commerce support, CSC operations and drone-based agri services.

Commenting on the launch, Dr. BVR Mohan Reddy, Founder Chairman, Cyient Limited, said, “The Cyient AI & Future Skills Hub reflects our deep commitment to enabling rural communities to participate meaningfully in India’s digital and AI-driven growth story. By strengthening existing infrastructure and embedding AI into real livelihood pathways, we are helping rural youth and women acquire future-ready skills that translate directly into employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.”

Building on its strong track record, Cyient Foundation has successfully digitized over 120 government schools, reaching more than 35,000 students with digital literacy. Through its Adopt-a-School initiative, over 21,000 children are currently receiving quality education. Beyond education, the Foundation has also championed women’s empowerment and rural development. Each year, more than 2,000 rural women are trained for sustainable employment.
