CSR Initiative Raises Awareness About Thalassemia

The CSR Journal Magazine

Sattva Group, in collaboration with Sankalp India Foundation, has successfully concluded a city-wide blood donation campaign across its IT parks in Bengaluru, collecting over 350+ units of blood to support children living with thalassemia. The initiative, which commenced on World Thalassemia Day, has spanned three months and multiple locations, culminating in a powerful collective impact.

Designed to drive awareness and action around the needs of thalassemia patients, the campaign transformed Sattva’s corporate campuses, including Sattva Knowledge Court, Sattva Mind Comp Tech Park, and Sattva Global City, into hubs of voluntary participation and social responsibility. The final leg of the campaign was held at Sattva Softzone Tech Park on July 24, marking the formal closure of the drive.

This initiative demonstrates how business ecosystems can become powerful catalysts for meaningful social change,” said Shivam Agarwal, Vice President – Strategy & Growth, Sattva Group. “By bringing together our corporate tenants at our office parks for critical causes like this, we create opportunities for collective impact that extend far beyond our individual capabilities. Every unit of blood collected represents hope for children whose lives depend on regular transfusions. We are proud to have partnered with Sankalp India Foundation to bring this mission to life and deeply grateful to every individual who contributed to this life-saving effort.”.

The campaign was structured to ensure safety, education, and engagement at every stage. Donors underwent pre-donation health screenings, attended briefings on thalassemia awareness, and received professional support throughout the process. This holistic approach created not only a secure environment but also a space for learning and community connection.

Rajat Kumar Agarwal, President of Sankalp India Foundation, remarked, “For the more than 2,500 children who rely on timely transfusions to survive, this campaign brought more than just blood, it brought reassurance and renewed strength. We sincerely thank the Sattva Group and every donor for standing in solidarity with these young fighters.

The drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from working professionals across Sattva campuses, reinforcing the growing role of corporate India in addressing public health challenges through consistent, meaningful engagement.

As the initiative draws to a close, both organisations extend their heartfelt appreciation to all donors, volunteers, and support staff who contributed to its success. This campaign is a reminder that even small individual acts, when multiplied can create lasting, life-saving impact.
