CSR to Empower Girls with on Campus IT Skills in Gurugram

The District Administration, Gurugram, Management & Entrepreneurship and Professional Skills Council (MEPSC), Comviva and Sanshil Foundation for Welfare have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly promote education and skill development among the girl students for competitive exams including IT skill development right on campus at Government Girls College, Sector 14, Gurugram.

Under this initiative, MEPSC will implement skill development courses in a phased manner, starting with an inaugural program in the trade of Office Operations Executive for 50 trainees. The program, with a total duration of 390 hours, will provide girl students with essential skills and knowledge to enhance their employability alongside their academic studies.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment, Comviva has extended financial support for this initiative and has set up a twenty-eight seater computer lab on campus at Government Girls College, Sector 14 along with thirty seater training room. Sanshil Foundation, acting as the CSR implementation partner, will channel the CSR funds and coordinate with MEPSC to ensure smooth execution of the program. Additionally, Sanshil will set up a library-cum-study center at Sarmathla village, Gurugram, to further promote education and skill development in the region.

MEPSC will deliver training content as per the approved curriculum and facilitate assessments during and at the conclusion of the program. Certificates will be issued to trainees who successfully meet the prescribed standards.

Speaking on the occasion, Ajay Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Gurugram, said, “This collaboration reflects our strong commitment to empowering the girls with employable skills. By equipping them with the right training for competitive exams alongside their academic studies, we aim to open new avenues of growth and livelihood opportunities.”
