CBSE Set to Unveil New Curriculum for Classes 9 and 10 from 2026-27 Session

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is poised to introduce an updated curriculum for Classes 9 and 10 during a special webinar today. This significant change marks an evolution in the framework of secondary education within the country.

The new curriculum will be implemented starting from the academic session of 2026–27. The event will take place at the CBSE Headquarters located in the Integrated Office Complex, Sector-23, Dwarka, at 3 pm. For broader engagement, the board will also livestream the session on its official YouTube channel, allowing educators and stakeholders nationwide to participate.

Alignment with National Curriculum Framework

CBSE has confirmed that the revised curriculum is in accordance with the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-2023). The revamped scheme of studies for Class 9 will be introduced in the upcoming academic cycle. The webinar will present the framework titled Secondary Part One 2026–27, emphasizing key academic and structural modifications. These alterations aim to enhance the educational experience for students across India.

Preparation for Implementation

In its official communications, CBSE has instructed all affiliated schools to download the complete curriculum documents for Classes 9 and 10. These documents will encompass preliminary sections and are to be disseminated among teachers and students. Schools have been encouraged to initiate the necessary preparations to effectively implement the revised guidelines, ensuring that they are ready to adopt the new curriculum as planned.
