BRICS Melody Event to Launch Jaipur’s 300th Anniversary Celebrations

The CSR Journal Magazine

Jaipur is preparing to host the BRICS Melody project, marking a significant event in the city’s history. Scheduled for 30 November to 2 December 2026, this multinational musical venture will inaugurate a year-long celebration of Jaipur’s 300th anniversary. This festival will include performances featuring traditional musical instruments from member nations of BRICS, alongside forums with experts in international humanitarian relations and masterclasses aimed at local youth and residents.

The decision to hold the BRICS Melody in Jaipur was finalised in an agreement with Russian partners during the International Youth Festival in Russia on 15 September 2026. As the first of its kind on Indian soil, this event underscores Jaipur’s role as a focal point for cultural dialogue among nations.

The city’s designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2019 enhances its suitability as a host for an initiative deeply rooted in tradition and cultural heritage. This festival represents an opportunity for cultural exchange in a historically significant location.

Educational and Cultural Engagements Planned

The BRICS Melody event will feature not only musical performances but also educational initiatives. These activities are anticipated to attract considerable participation, with previous iterations of the project engaging around 3,500 students from schools and universities, and involving 50 experts in cultural studies.

Initially launched in 2024 under the framework of BRICS Youth Cooperation, the project has since evolved into a large-scale international cultural initiative uniting representatives from nine countries. The BRICS nations involved include Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, the UAE, Egypt, Iran, and Indonesia.

This international collaboration serves a dual purpose: promoting cultural understanding and facilitating engagement among younger generations. Onkar Bagaria, the CEO of Vivekananda Global University, expressed pride in the university’s role as the organiser, emphasising that the initiative embodies the idea of cultural connection promoted by Swami Vivekananda.

Musical Collaboration and Album Presentation

The festival in Jaipur will also feature the unveiling of the first-ever album produced by performers from BRICS nations, signifying a historic collaborative effort. This album represents the culmination of shared musical traditions and will be introduced officially during the festival.

Natalia Aksenova, the project head, noted the significance of launching this concert series in Jaipur, a city steeped in a rich cultural heritage. Aksenova highlighted that the musicians, though diverse in culture and language, will unite through music, symbolising a common rhythm among the participating nations.

The event aims to reinforce existing cultural dialogues between Russia and India, which have spanned several decades. The emphasis on youth-oriented initiatives aligns with the theme of India’s BRICS chairmanship this year, promoting inclusivity and active participation in cultural exchanges.

This collaboration not only showcases traditional musical artistry but also aims to create lasting bonds through shared cultural experiences. The significance of engaging with local communities and fostering youth involvement is a central element of the BRICS Melody initiative, enriching the cultural landscape of Jaipur as it approaches its landmark anniversary.
