Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday addressed the Lok Sabha during the Budget session of Parliament, where he spoke about the how successful Maha Kumbh 2025 has been which was recently hosted in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj. “I bow to crores of people of the country who contributed to the success of Mahakumbh in Prayagraj,” PM Modi said in Lok Sabha.
The Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj commenced on January 13 this year and concluded on February 26 and witnessed a footfall of 66 crore. Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Mahakumbh on February 5 where he took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, which is the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati rivers.

“India’s new generation connected with Mahakumbh, it is embracing traditions and faith with pride. Entire world witnessed grandeur of India during Mahakumbh. Unity in diversity is speciality of India, we experienced it in Prayagraj and should continue to enrich this,” PM Modi said in Lok Sabha as reported by PTI.
Calling the Maha Kumbh an example of ‘sabka prayaas’ or collective endeavour during which the entire world got to experience the grandeur of India, the PM said at the Lok Sabha that the Maha Kumbh “reflects the spirit of rising India”. “Several people had a role to play in the success of Maha Kumbh. I thank all the ‘karm yogis’ of the government and society,” PM Modi said.
Talking about the Maha Kumbh, the prime minister appreciated the arrangements and implementation by the Uttar Pradesh government of the grand religious congregation, which witnessed participation from millions of devotees from across the world along with saints and tourists. He also called the Maha Kumbh a “nectar of unity” and said, “The Maha Kumbh was an event where people from every region, from every corner of the country, came together as one.”
