A new alliance in Bihar politics was announced on Tuesday ahead of the assembly elections scheduled later this year. RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav’s elder son and MLA from Hasanpur, Tej Pratap Yadav announced an alliance with Pradeep Nishad’s VVIP party at a press conference in Patna on Tuesday. After joining hands with Vikas Vanchit Insaan Party (VVIP party), Tej Pratap invited parties like RJD, Congress to join his party.
“We are going to play a new innings from today. Many people will try to break our strength. Today many parties are joining us. It is a big challenge, we do not want to comment on anyone,” he said.
Tej Pratap further said, “A public representative should connect with the ground and fulfill his responsibility by being with the people in their happiness and sorrow. We are moving forward in the same way. We have blown the trumpet to contest elections from Mahua. We will fight the battle ahead together, many enemies will feel that we are moving ahead. I believe that we will keep moving forward.”
He further said, “The fight ahead is challenging. Many people want us to collide and get crushed. We have also invited RJD and Congress to join the alliance. Everyone will join, those who make fun of us will vanish in the air.”
Tej Pratap reiterated his point of contesting as an independent candidate
The former Bihar minister, who was expelled from the party on May 25 by his father Lalu Prasad for six years over his alleged relationship with a woman, had previously announced that he would contest the upcoming Assembly elections from Mahua seat in Vaishali district as an independent candidate.
Tej Pratap reiterated his point of contesting as an independent candidate on Tuesday. He said, “We will contest from the same seat. Everyone knows how bad the road was earlier. We built a hospital and gave ambulances. Team Tej Pratap is an organisation and we will contest independently. We have the support of other parties like VVIP.”
