The CSR Journal Magazine

Two deeply disturbing incidents of child sexual abuse have come to light in southern India. Both incidents highlight growing concerns around child safety and the urgent need for institutional accountability. One case involves the rape of a schoolgirl by her principal in Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile another reports the sexual assault of a 10-year-old by her own father in Telangana.

Principal Rapes Minor Student, Threatens Her to Stay Silent

In a horrifying case came to light from Dr BR Ambedkar Konaseema district in Andhra Pradesh. Here, a private school principal, identified as Jayaraju, allegedly raped a Class 9 student. The incident occurred approximately four months ago. According to initial reports, the accused threatened the minor with severe consequences if she told anyone about the incident.

However the crime came to light after the girl’s parents noticed she had not had her periods for three months. Concerned, they took her to a hospital, where medical tests revealed that the minor was pregnant. Shocked by the revelation, the family confronted the girl. Under intense pressure the girl revealed the truth. Following this the family immediately approached the Rayavaram police station to register a complaint.

Authorities have confirmed that a case has been registered and an investigation is underway. The principal has been booked under multiple sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The officials have assured strict legal action against him. The case has sparked anger and calls for better child protection mechanisms in educational institutions.

Father Sexually Assaults 10-Year-Old Daughter

In a similar but equally distressing incident, a 10-year-old girl from a village under Marikal mandal in Telangana’s Narayanpet district was allegedly sexually assaulted by her own father. The child, a Class 5 student, had recently returned home from a government hostel in Makthal after being treated for a dog bite.

On the afternoon of July 25, while her mother was away working as a daily wage labourer, the father reportedly intoxicated returned home from grazing goats and sexually assaulted the child. Despite her desperate pleas, the man continued the attack. Her screams eventually alerted neighbours, who rushed into the house and found her bleeding. They rescued the girl and informed her mother.

Following a complaint filed by the mother, police registered a case under the POCSO Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The accused father is currently absconding, and a manhunt has been launched to apprehend him.

Officials Promise Strict Action

Police in both states have assured that stringent action will be taken against the accused in accordance with the law. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities are calling for community vigilance and timely reporting to prevent such horrific crimes in the future.
