An entire era, an incredible, a phenomenal, astounding, prodigious, presence lost yesterday, the iconic, legendary Asha Bhosle ji, has left us (sic).” Bachchan further lamented her versatility, noting that her ability to bring life to each song is now a treasured memory.

He stated, “In immense grief. Her versatility in giving life to every song she gave voice to, gone to the heavens, and has left us an entire encyclopedia of eternal music. The body has left us but her soul shall remain forever with us. Her voice – the soul, shall ever be immortalized (sic).” Such reflections illustrate her profound impact on both personal and national levels.

The emotional tribute showcases not only Bachchan’s admiration for Bhosle but conveys the sentiments of countless fans who cherished her work throughout her vast career.

Final Farewell at Her Residence

During the memorial at her residence, Asha Bhosle received state honours, with her body draped in the Indian tricolour. Images surfaced showing security personnel paying tribute as her casket, adorned with white lilies, was placed for public viewing. Friends and admirers were allowed to offer their respects until 3 PM, before the funeral procession departed for Shivaji Park Crematorium.

Asha Bhosle’s passing was reportedly due to multi-organ failure, following her hospitalisation for a chest infection and severe exhaustion.
