Adani Group Launches Major Skill Development Program in Partnership with IGCC

The Adani Group has launched a nationwide ‘Skill and Employ’ program aimed at strengthening India’s workforce and supporting the ‘Make in India’ initiative. The program, which is the largest of its kind in the country, will focus on developing a skilled talent pool for industries such as green energy, manufacturing, high-tech sectors, and industrial design, among others.
In partnership with the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC), the program aims to align vocational and technical education with industry requirements. The IGCC, which has been active since 1956 and is the largest German bi-national chamber of commerce abroad, will help shape the initiative by leveraging its expertise in vocational education and training. With over 4,000 member companies, IGCC is well-positioned to assist in shaping the program’s curriculum to meet international standards.

Vocational Training to Make Students ‘Industry-Ready’ from Day One

The Adani Group has committed over Rs 2,000 crore to establish an institution and finishing school in Mundra. The focus will be on selecting students from technical and vocational backgrounds across India and providing them with specialised training. Upon completing the program, students will be prepared for immediate employment within the Adani Group or other industries.
In a statement, Robin Bhowmik, CEO of Adani Skills & Education, emphasised that the program aligns with the Group’s broader mission of cultivating high-level technical talent and enhancing India’s industrial workforce. He stated that the initiative aims to ensure that students are prepared to enter the workforce directly, making them “industry-ready” from day one.

Long-Term Collaboration Aims to Bridge Education-Industry Divide

This partnership is seen as a long-term effort to address the skills gap in India’s rapidly growing industrial sectors. The program also aims to offer international-standard training, helping bridge the divide between education and industry needs.
With India’s workforce set to play a key role in the country’s economic development, this initiative looks to provide critical support in developing skilled professionals to meet the demands of various sectors.
