Belgium Princess Astrid Will Lead High-Level Economic Mission to India

Belgium Princess Astrid will be leading a high-level economic mission to India, which begins today. The mission will boost bilateral cooperation in key areas including renewable energy, health and life sciences, transport and logistics. The Belgian ambassador Didier Vanderhasselt says that this will be one of the biggest economic missions from the country and will expand India-Belgium economic engagement in a variety of areas.

Delhi-Mumbai

Approximately 326 official representatives and industry experts from prominent Belgian companies will join the mission. The focus will be on climate and renewable energy, health and life sciences, construction and eco construction, space and defence, decarbonisation of steel, etc. While addressing a small group of journalists, the ambassador said that the 22 projects are expected to be finalised during the mission visit to Delhi, while 12 such initiatives are said to be firmed up in Mumbai.

The delegation will be in New Delhi between March 2-4 before moving to Mumbai till March 8. The mission will be led by Princess Astrid of Belgium as a representative of the king.
