First phase of Maharashtra State Entrepreneurship Mission launched

Nagpur, India: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, expressed his belief that by creating skillful human resources and entrepreneurs, the Maharashtra State Entrepreneurship Mission will assist in attaining global opportunities, thereby propelling the state’s development.
The first phase of the mission launched in six districts, including Nagpur, Thane, Ahmednagar, Amravati, Chandrapur, and Jalgaon, will aim at creating skilled human resources and entrepreneurs, ultimately contributing to global opportunities.
To promote job creation and economic development in the state, the Maharashtra government’s Maharashtra State Innovation Society under Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship & Innovation Department and the Global Alliance for Mass Entrepreneurship (GAME) inaugurated the first phase of the “Maharashtra State Entrepreneurship Mission” under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis.
Minister of Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Mangal Prabhat Lodha, GAME’s Founder, Ravi Venkatesan, and Dr. Ramaswami N., Commissioner of Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, along with District Collectors and ZP CEOs from Nagpur, Thane, Ahmednagar, Amravati, Chandrapur, and Jalgaon, were present for this launch ceremony.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has significantly emphasized the importance of small, medium, and micro-enterprises in the growth of India’s economy. To complement this effort in Maharashtra, the state government has initiated the “Maharashtra State Entrepreneurship Mission.” The first phase of this program will be implemented in the six aforementioned districts, with plans to expand to 50% in all the districts across the state by 2024. Additionally, this initiative will extend to other districts in subsequent phases.
Deputy Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, said “The growth engine of Industries in Maharashtra is recognized at a national level. Through the “Maharashtra State Entrepreneurship Mission,” it is believed that entrepreneurs will be nurtured, leading to the creation of a skilled workforce and significant job opportunities. This initiative will also fortify the small, medium, and micro-enterprise sector in the state, which plays a crucial role in India’s development.” He also expressed his vision to make Maharashtra the Entrepreneurship Capital, emphasising Maharashtra as Magnet to attract the stakeholders.
Mangalprabhat Lodha, State Minister of Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, mentioned that the “Maharashtra State Entrepreneurship Mission” will play a crucial role in the rapid and sustainable development of the state. To implement the “Maharashtra State Entrepreneurship Mission” (MSEM), covering all districts in Maharashtra, they are collaborating with the Global Alliance for Mass Entrepreneurship (GAME). They expressed their gratitude for the collaboration and emphasized the need to address the growing demand for skills and reduce barriers to economic growth.
Ravi Venkatesan, Founder, GAME, highlighted that small industries play a vital role in the development of any state. He commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for recognizing and supporting such initiatives and revealed that they are actively working in states like Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh. He also stated that the program would be expanded rapidly in Maharashtra.
Prominent officials at the launch event expressed their appreciation for the collaboration, and they look forward to addressing the growing demand for skills and reducing unemployment. They also mentioned that this program would contribute to the development of the state, helping to uplift every region.
In addition, Pramod Shinde, Add. Chief Executive Officer of the Maharashtra State Innovation Society, expressed his gratitude for this collaboration.
