Kerala Row: Narendra Modi Targets Congress, Left Over Claims Affecting Migrant Workers

The CSR Journal Magazine

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a scathing attack on the Congress and Left parties during a rally in Tiruvalla, Kerala. He accused them of labelling significant issues and reports, such as the Kerala Files and Dhurandhar, as fabrications. Modi claimed that these parties have become adept at spreading misinformation and have transformed into what he described as a “factory of lies.”

He highlighted their dismissal of the Kashmir Files and various legislative reforms, including amendments to the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA) and the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). Modi asserted that the opposition is intentionally misleading the public about these issues for their own political gain, declaring a need for truth and transparency.

Continuing his criticism, the Prime Minister underscored the need for factual discourse in politics. He insisted that the ongoing narratives propagated by the Congress and the Left only serve to create confusion and fear among the populace. Modi reiterated the importance of clear communication concerning legislative measures that are designed to benefit the country.

Risks to Indian Migrant Workers in the Gulf

In a broader context, Prime Minister Modi expressed concern over the safety of nearly one crore Indian workers residing in the Gulf and Iran. He accused the Congress party of making inflammatory remarks that could jeopardise the lives of these migrants, suggesting that their political ambitions are being pursued at the expense of people’s safety.

During his address, Modi warned that such irresponsible statements could tarnish India’s relationships with vital West Asian nations. He highlighted the potential repercussions for Indian nationals, including fishermen from several states, who might be affected by this political rhetoric. Modi confirmed that the government is actively working to assist these individuals in returning safely to India, reinforcing a commitment to their well-being.

Modi urged the Congress to reconsider their approach, advocating for a political climate prioritising the lives and security of Indians abroad. He emphasised that politics should not come at the cost of endangering the lives of citizens and called for accountability from opposition leaders.

Government’s Commitment to Supporting Indian Nationals

During the rally, Prime Minister Modi acknowledged the ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Gulf region. He reassured families of Indian migrants that the government is maintaining open lines of communication with leaders from the Gulf nations to ensure the safety and security of its citizens.

He stated, “Your sons, daughters, and relatives are not alone; the Government of India stands by every Indian in these regions.” Modi asserted that despite the dangerous circumstances, the administration is doing all it can to provide necessary assistance to Indian nationals in the Gulf. He reaffirmed that the government will continue to focus on safeguarding the welfare of Indian citizens during these trying times.

In conclusion, the Prime Minister’s remarks delineated a clear message concerning both the political landscape and the safety of Indians abroad. Modi has pledged ongoing efforts to assist Indian nationals living in the West Asian countries, while urging the opposition to act responsibly in their political expression.
