In a major mishap, a pickup van carrying 20 people crashed into a parked truck, killing 11 people — including 7 children — and leaving 8 others severely injured. The passengers were from Etah, Uttar Pradesh, and were returning to their villages after visiting the Khatu Shyam Ji and Salasar Balaji temples around 5:00 a.m.
Dausa SP Sagar shared that 7 children and 4 women died on the spot. Giving details of the deceased, he said, “Out of the 11 killed, seven have been identified — Poorvi (3), Daksh (12), Seema (25), Priyanka (25), Anshu (26), Saurabh (28), and Sheela (35).”
Officials further stated that 20 people were on board when the accident occurred, as the pickup rammed into the truck.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed his sorrow on X, writing, “The tragic loss of lives in the horrific road accident in Dausa is deeply saddening. The district administration has been instructed to provide prompt and proper medical care to the injured. May the departed souls find peace at the Almighty’s feet, and may the injured recover swiftly.”
Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also expressed his condolences. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the tragedy, conveying condolences to the families of the deceased and wishing a speedy recovery for the injured. The Uttar Pradesh CMO stated, “Instructions have been given to the officials to coordinate with their counterparts in the Rajasthan government.”
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Minister Kirodi Lal Meena has urged the Centre to take urgent action, noting that many accidents have occurred at the same location.
