Collaboratively Working To Boost The Healthcare Sector

Development on the healthcare front is the need of the hour today. High healthcare costs and lack of affordable healthcare services often result in greater out-of-pocket expenditure for diagnosis, consultation and treatment which has been a challenge for the underprivileged section of the society. The healthcare segment needs a lot of contribution which can be addressed by public private partnerships and increased usage of technology and smart devices that will lead to greater reach and multitude of healthcare services. Presently, the country is also witnessing a high demand for quality and affordable healthcare.

Samsung India has been working closely with central and state governments for its healthcare initiatives. The Samsung Smart Healthcare program has been designed to provide the best of healthcare to millions of citizens especially from the economically weaker sections. As part of it doctors, technicians and radiologists are trained to handle the state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and software. Over 3.5 lakh patients across 16 hospitals have been treated since 2015.

In the stressful environment, with various unhappy, unsatisfied situations, life seems to be difficult and tough to live. Being positive helps gain the confidence to fight back, builds hope for success and adds happiness and smiles to daily life.

Wockhardt Foundation along with Amruta Fadnavis and in association Anu Aggarwal Foundation and Child Help Foundation distributed 1,00,000 ‘Be Positive’ candies areas among the underprivileged kids in Mumbai. Dr. Huzaifa Khorakiwala, CEO and Trustee, Wockhardt Foundation, said, “Being positive is the way to a happy and satisfied life. We aim to generate positivity in the children, boosting their confidence to face their life in an encouraging way. ‘Be Positive’ candies help us spread our message in a simple and sweet way.”

In another instance Becton Dickinson is a global medical technology company that is advancing the world of health by improving medical discovery, diagnostics and the delivery of care. BD leads in patient and health care worker safety and the technologies that enable medical research and clinical laboratories. The company provides innovative solutions that help advance medical research and genomics, enhance the diagnosis of infectious disease and cancer, improve medication management, promote infection prevention, equip surgical and interventional procedures and support the management of diabetes.

With the increasing incidences of occupational hazards like accidental needle stick injuries, healthcare workers are open to various diseases like HIV/AIDS, hepatitis and more. This campaign will further help and educate healthcare workers on the safety precautions, resulting in reduced occupational hazards.

According to a study, India contributes to 30% of the 16 billion injections administered worldwide. Sadly, of these, 63% are estimated to be unsafe due to improper sterilisation, reuse or faulty administration, making them a leading cause of infection to healthcare workers.
