The CSR Journal Magazine

Xiaomi is set to launch its Mijia Air Purifier 6 and Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact in India on August 25. This will mark the introduction of the Mijia sub-brand in the Indian market. The announcement was made through a post on X, providing insights into the upcoming devices. Xiaomi aims to enhance air quality in Indian homes with these new offerings.

The Mijia lineup has been welcomed in India following the company’s announcement earlier this month. The post on X highlighted the air purifiers as key products in this initiative, focusing on making pure air accessible to all households.

Specifications Of Mijia Air Purifiers

The Mijia Air Purifier 6 is positioned as the more powerful variant, featuring a particle CADR of 420 cubic metres per hour along with a formaldehyde CADR of 150 cubic metres per hour. Designed for spaces measuring between 29 and 50 square metres, it caters well to larger environments.

This model offers advanced features, including monitoring of PM2.5 and PM1 levels, with a display that indicates particle concentration, temperature, and humidity. It is equipped with UV sterilisation and negative ion functions, further enhancing its capability to purify air. The global dimensions for this purifier are 250 x 250 x 555mm and it weighs approximately 5.2kg.

For smaller areas, Xiaomi presents the Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact. It offers a particle CADR of 230 cubic metres per hour and is suitable for spaces between 16 and 27 square metres. This model employs a 3-in-1 filtration system that captures 99.97 per cent of particles as small as 0.3 microns. Real-time monitoring enables it to adjust purification speeds automatically, and it includes a Sleep Mode, which reduces operating noise to 20dB.

Mijia Brand Aims For Connected Ecosystem

Mathur elaborated that the products will work harmoniously as part of a connected smart home ecosystem, allowing for seamless integration of various devices. This could result in a home environment that automates tasks such as lighting and cleaning through scheduled operations.

Central to Xiaomi’s mission with Mijia is the goal of making smart technology more affordable. Mathur emphasised that accessibility is a fundamental aspect of Xiaomi’s philosophy, highlighting that advanced technology should not be prohibitively expensive for the majority. The intent is to broaden the consumer base for smart home experiences across India.
