Western Railway introduced two mobile applications that seek to boost ticket-checking operations and customer service across long-distance trains. The app is currently being tested through the beta version to support ticket-checking officers to verify the authenticity of train tickets. The ticket scanner application verifies ticket information by matching UTS numbers and mobile numbers in the railway database to detect fake tickets.
Aims Ticket Checking & Enhance Customer Service
The Western Railway has launched this program because passengers frequently create fake tickets with fake QR codes to avoid fees during busy travel periods when ticket inspectors might not verify tickets. Staff members who work as ticket-checkers utilise mobile apps through which they verify the authenticity of tickets because it makes their job easier than it used to be.
This application works to improve the process by which passengers file complaints. Travellers currently face delays in issues reported by using either the 139 helpline or the Rail Madad app. The new application provides train captains and ticket supervisors immediate access to contact information regarding staff members who handle various train-related problems. The application enables staff to handle problems rapidly which include unclean toilets alongside water leakage together with food disadvantages and air conditioning concerns. Through this application, the train captain gains access to vital contact information as well as details about all onboard staff members particularly beneficial when TTEs board later at stations.
Which Premium Trains Consists These Apps?
These apps are currently used on Vande Bharat and both Rajdhani and Shatabdi premium train services to enhance passenger travel experiences. By implementing this new system the railway can better track contractual staff whose duties include cleaning and catering which will lead to enhanced service quality. The passenger safety improvements and ticket fraud reduction along with efficient travel experience delivery define Western Railway’s progressive initiative.
