Wedding DJ Row Sparks Violence in Ahmedabad, Several Arrested

A wedding celebration in Ahmedabad turned chaotic on Friday following a dispute over the music played by a DJ. The incident occurred in the Rakhial area when a Hindu family was celebrating their daughter’s wedding, known locally as ‘baraat.’ As the groom’s party danced to the celebratory tunes, members of the nearby Muslim community reportedly objected to the music, citing the observance of Ramzan as a reason for their concern.

According to police officials, the disagreement escalated into a confrontation between the two groups. Tensions rose quickly, leading to a hostile environment in which stones were thrown at the wedding guests. The disturbance attracted attention from other local residents, who joined in the escalating situation. The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rupal Solanki, confirmed that several vehicles parked in the vicinity were also vandalized during the clash.

In the aftermath of the violence, authorities took action and arrested seven individuals connected to the unrest. The wedding procession, initially filled with joy and celebration, had to return from the venue due to the rapidly deteriorating conditions. As investigations continue, police are working to assess the situation in the area and provide any necessary support to the affected families.
