Uttarakhand CM Dhami Approves Over ₹500 Crore for Infrastructure and Development Projects

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has sanctioned significant financial allocations aimed at enhancing infrastructure and essential services within the state. The funding will also support enterprise promotion, administrative strengthening, and various projects, including the Ganga Corridor and small hydropower initiatives. The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) stated that these initiatives are designed to stimulate development across multiple sectors such as investment, tourism, energy, and sports while promoting administrative transparency.

Infrastructure Development Initiatives

At a recent meeting, Chief Minister Dhami directed state officials to ensure the timely and high-quality implementation of all approved projects, maximizing public benefit. The allocations include ₹150 crore approved under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment scheme, which will be distributed across various departments for infrastructure development. Additionally, ₹350 crore has been earmarked for major projects led by different departments. These approvals are anticipated to expedite infrastructure development across Uttarakhand.

Ganga Corridor and Triveni Ghat Redevelopment

Furthermore, the state government has granted administrative and financial approval for ₹106.78 crore for the redevelopment of Triveni Ghat as part of the Rishikesh Ganga Corridor Project. This funding comes following recommendations from the Expenditure Finance Committee. Additionally, ₹11.37 crore has been approved as an allocation from the Government of India for the first phase of the Ganga Corridor project, scheduled for the financial year 2025-26. The initiative is expected to improve the aesthetic appeal of the Ganga riverfront in Rishikesh, enhance facilities for pilgrims, and promote tourism in the region.

Advancements in Sports Infrastructure

Chief Minister Dhami has also highlighted the state’s commitment to developing sports facilities. He noted the completion of over 102 mini stadiums and 157 playgrounds designed to create opportunities for local youth. Dhami described these developments as a robust initiative to fulfill the aspirations of the youth of Uttarakhand. In a statement on social media, he emphasized that the construction of these facilities is not just about expanding basic infrastructure, but also about fostering a sports culture in rural areas. He expressed pride in the accomplishments of the state’s athletes on national and international stages.
