A man from Uttar Pradesh has been taken into custody for the murder of his maternal uncle, motivated by his feelings for his aunt. The case unfolded on the night of March 13 in Rampur district, where the victim’s body was discovered on the roadside, initially suggested to be the result of a traffic accident. However, the presence of injury marks on the uncle’s neck and face prompted investigators to delve deeper into the circumstances surrounding the death.

Investigation Findings Reveal Strangulation

A post-mortem examination confirmed that the cause of death was strangulation, contradicting the initial assumption of a road mishap. Following this revelation, local law enforcement initiated an investigation that pointed to the involvement of the victim’s nephew, identified as Virendra, along with an accomplice named Jitendra, also known as Chhotu.

Motivation Behind the Crime

The Additional Superintendent of Police, Anurag Singh, disclosed that Virendra’s motive for the crime stemmed from his romantic feelings for his aunt, who is married to the victim. It was revealed that both suspects had incapacitated the uncle by intoxicating him before proceeding to strangle him with a muffler.

Cover-Up Attempt and Arrests

To further conceal their actions, the suspects placed the victim’s body on a motorcycle and orchestrated a crash, attempting to create the illusion of an accident. However, their plan was thwarted by the subsequent investigation. Following the gathering of evidence, Rampur Police successfully apprehended both Virendra and Jitendra, who have since been placed in judicial custody. Authorities are continuing to build their case, with additional actions expected as more evidence comes to light.
