Uttar Pradesh: ₹200-Crore Road Push Set to Reshape Hapur’s Connectivity, 195 Projects Proposed

The CSR Journal Magazine

Hapur district in Uttar Pradesh is poised for a major infrastructure upgrade as the Public Works Department (PWD) has proposed an investment of nearly ₹200 crore for large-scale road development. The department has submitted a detailed proposal to the state government, outlining 195 projects aimed at constructing new roads and upgrading existing ones across the district.

260 Km of Roads to Be Built and Repaired

According to officials, the proposed projects collectively cover around 260.60 kilometres of roads. The plan includes construction of previously unbuilt roads, strengthening of damaged stretches, and patchwork repairs on deteriorating routes. The focus is on improving overall road quality and ensuring smoother travel for residents across both urban and rural areas.

The road development blueprint includes recommendations submitted by MLAs from Hapur’s three assembly constituencies, Sadat, Dhaulana, and Garhmukteshwar. Legislators Vijaypal Adhiti, Dharmesh Tomar, and Harendra Singh Tewatia had each proposed road works in their respective areas, which have now been merged into the district-wide plan to ensure balanced development.

Boost to Rural and Highway Connectivity

PWD officials said the projects are designed to strengthen rural connectivity and improve access to villages, markets, and service roads along national highways. Several interior roads that had either not been constructed earlier or had become unusable due to neglect have been prioritised to reduce travel time and enhance safety.

Key Roads Identified for Construction

Among the major proposed works are roads connecting Baba Mastaram’s kuti in Garh village to Abdullapur, Jamalpura to Bilhara, and Garh Kashiram housing area to Abdullapur. Other routes include Jhajna to Bhagwantpur and Mukhteshwara Ghero to Arifpur Madhaiya, which are considered vital for local movement and economic activity.

Approval Awaited, Work to Begin Soon

Confirming the development, Shailendra Singh, Executive Engineer of PWD, said the proposal has been sent to the state government for approval. “We are hopeful that the projects will be cleared soon and work will begin shortly,” he said. Once approved, the initiative is expected to significantly improve road infrastructure, boost local development, and provide long-term benefits to residents of Hapur district.
