“Uncompromising And Formidable”: Mahesh Babu Commends Priyanka Chopra’s Performance in ‘The Bluff’

The CSR Journal Magazine

Tollywood star Mahesh Babu publicly lauded Priyanka Chopra Jonas for her role in the recently released action film The Bluff. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Mahesh described her performance as “swashbuckling” and praised the way she balanced action with emotion, calling the movie “well-mounted” and “engaging.” He also sent his best wishes to the entire team behind the project.

Mahesh Babu reshared the film’s trailer and wrote, “Loved the trailer… @priyankachopra is uncompromising and formidable yet again. Wishing the entire team of #TheBluff the very best for Feb 25th…”

Soon after, Priyanka commented, “Thank you.”

Mahesh’s comments quickly drew attention because he and Priyanka are currently working together on SS Rajamouli’s highly anticipated film Varanasi. The public show of support has further stoked fan excitement about the dynamic between the two actors ahead of its release.

Priyanka responded warmly to Mahesh’s praise, thanking him and adding a playful comment referencing Antarctica, a nod that sparked online speculation about the scale and locations of Varanasi’s shoot.

Anticipation Builds for ‘Varanasi’

Varanasi is one of the most talked-about Indian films in production. Directed by S.S. Rajamouli, the filmmaker behind massive global hits like RRR and Baahubali, the movie marks Priyanka’s return to Indian cinema after several years focusing on international projects.

The film also stars Mahesh Babu and Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran, with actor Prakash Raj confirmed in a key role. There’s widespread interest in the project’s narrative scale, technical ambition, and international appeal.

Production Scope and Exciting Updates

Priyanka recently revealed that Varanasi has been in production for about 14 months, and another six months of shooting are still to go, indicating the film’s enormous scale. She shared these details during a television appearance, describing the experience as a major cinematic adventure.

Industry insiders highlight that the movie is designed to be a grand action-adventure, with big international sequences and high technical standards. The production is reportedly being shot in IMAX format, a first for Indian cinema, and combines mythic, dramatic, and visual spectacle in ways that aim to rival Hollywood blockbusters.

Mahesh Babu’s character is known as Rudhra, a powerful protagonist, while Priyanka plays a pivotal role named Mandakini. Prithviraj is expected to portray a formidable antagonist.

Release and Hype

Varanasi is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on 7 April 2027, with dubbed versions across multiple Indian languages. It’s backed by a reportedly massive production budget and has already generated significant buzz from both Indian and global audiences.

With Mahesh Babu’s public praise of Priyanka’s recent work and their ongoing collaboration, anticipation continues to build for what could be one of Indian cinema’s biggest spectacles in years.
