The investigation into the murder of Haryanvi singer Ankit Baliyan has revealed that the two shooters allegedly conducted reconnaissance on his activities several days prior to the incident. Baliyan, 35, was shot dead outside a gym in Shamli, Uttar Pradesh, on August 26 by four armed assailants. CCTV footage retrieved from a local hotel has provided significant leads for law enforcement agencies.

According to the findings, the two shooters arrived in Shamli on August 20, deliberately tracking Baliyan’s movements. During their stay at the Surya Hotel, they presented identification documents, including Aadhaar cards, which were crucial for the investigation. Authorities are now carefully reviewing the CCTV recordings from the hotel, aiming to reconstruct the timeline leading up to the murder.

Investigators suspect that four shooters were directly involved in the attack. Following the shooting, it has been reported that two of the assailants fled in the direction of Karnal on a motorcycle, while the others, identified as Mohit and Sumit, escaped towards Baghpat. The police later managed to locate Mohit and Sumit, both of whom were killed in a reported encounter during the ongoing investigation.

Police Explore Jail Links to the Conspiracy

As investigators delve deeper into the case, they are also exploring potential connections to prison inmates who may have orchestrated the plot behind Baliyan’s murder. Reports indicate that elements of this conspiracy may have been planned from various jails located in Haryana and Delhi.

The police are focusing on three individuals who are suspected of involvement in the conspiracy: Rakesh alias Pampu, who is imprisoned in a Haryana facility, and Rohit Moi alongside Deepak Boxer, both held in Tihar Jail. All three are thought to have ties to the Gogi gang.

It has prompted authorities to investigate whether any directives related to the assassination were issued from within the correctional institutions. The inquiry into additional suspects continues, as police work to unravel the broader network potentially coordinating the attack on Baliyan.

Gogi Gang Claims Responsibility

The Gogi gang has openly claimed responsibility for the killing of Ankit Baliyan, stating that his alleged affiliations with rival gangs prompted the attack. They have also hinted at political motives influencing their actions. Baliyan, well-known for his songs including “Bhari Court Mein Goli Maarenge Meri Jaan”, attracted significant public attention following his death, igniting protests calling for justice.

Law enforcement agencies have established multiple teams to intensify their investigation into the case. Their primary objectives include locating any remaining suspects and piecing together the entirety of the conspiracy connected to Baliyan’s assassination. As the inquiry progresses, the late singer’s family has voiced their demand for complete justice, urging authorities to thoroughly examine all available digital and physical evidence.
