The Chief of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), Vijay, has been called to appear before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as part of the ongoing inquiry into the tragic stampede that occurred in Karur. This incident transpired during a public outreach event led by Vijay on September 27 of the previous year, resulting in the deaths of 41 individuals. The Supreme Court has mandated the CBI to take over the investigation, following a request for a thorough examination of the situation.

In January, the CBI conducted inquiries at its Karur office, specifically questioning nine police officers who were responsible for security during the event. This questioning coincided with Vijay’s appearance for the second phase of his interrogation at the CBI office in Delhi.
