Technician Nabbed For Digitally Raping Air Hostess in Medanta Hospital, Gurugarm

The Delhi police snapped a technician, Deepak Kumar, for sexually assaulting an air hostess under treatment on a ventilator in the Vedanta Hospital in Gurugram. Kumar, who hails from Bihar’s Muzaffarpur,  worked in the multi-speciality hospital and was arrested on Friday after an intensive investigation was launched by the Gurugram police on April 14.

The female came from West Bengal to the city for training with an airline. She filed a complaint at the Sardar Police Station alleging sexual misconduct while she was under care. Responding to the complaint, Gurugram police commissioner Vikas Kumar Arora on Thursday constituted a special investigation team SIT under the supervision of DCP (headquarters) Dr Arpit Jain to look into the matter.

What Complaint Said

Kumar was identified after examining CCTV camera footage and further interrogation with the hospital staff. Preliminary questioning of Kumar revealed that he worked in Medanta’s intensive care unit and was responsible for handling treatment machinery. The accused joined Medanta five months ago after completing his bachelor’s in operation theatre technology at a private university.

According to the complaint of the survivor, she was admitted to the Medanta Hospital on April 5. On the very next day, a man carried out a ‘digital rape’ of her in the hospital ICU in the presence of other two nurses who did nothing to stop him, as reported by the new agency PTI.

“I could hear all the sounds and proceedings there. The man asked for the inventory from both nurses. The nurse started giving their details,” said the woman.
