In a bid to encourage the people of Tamil Nadu to get fully vaccinated, the Sundaram Finance Group has launched a major public service programme in the state, specially targeting rural areas of the state. With a robust health care system in place in the state, the Sundaram Finance Group believes that the only way to combat and overcome the current pandemic situation is for people to get vaccinated.
Mr. Harsha Viji, Executive Vice Chairman, Sundaram Finance said “The state Government is making an excellent effort in driving vaccination across the state. However, surveys and anecdotal evidence show that a sizeable minority of Tamil Nadu’s citizens are resisting vaccination for a variety of reasons. We believe this is a crucial time and we are in the last mile in our fight against COVID. We need to keep up the momentum to educate and encourage our people to get vaccinated.” Mr. Viji added that a vaccination awareness campaign, in parallel to the Government’s effort, could help us aim for 100% vaccination.
Part of its massive vaccination awareness drive is an impactful music video along with static creatives to motivate the masses of Tamil Nadu overcome their inhibitions about the after-effects of the vaccine. The music video is composed by acclaimed Tamil Music Director and singer, Mr. Anirudh Ravichander and is written by famed lyricist Mr. Arivarasu Kalainesan (Arivu). Both Anirudh and Arivu have sung and performed in the video. The music video also includes well known personalities in the Tamil film industry, namely Ajay Gnanamuthu (Director), Satish Krishnan (Choreographer), Manoj Paramahansa (Cinematographer).
It features some influential celebrities of the Kollywood industry like Robo Shankar, Bj Bala, Thangadurai, and Deepa Shankar, highlighting the importance of getting vaccinated.
Speaking on the Public Service Programme, Mr. Rajiv Lochan, Managing Director, Sundaram Finance said, “The Sundaram Finance Group continues to be an integral part of the community and we believe we can help make a difference. As the number of first doses are seemingly decreasing, we feel that this is the opportune time to double down and motivate people to get vaccinated. ‘Oosingo’ is our way of driving the community to think about getting the jab.”
The Sundaram Finance group intends to spend up to Rs. 10 crores on this public service programme in a phased manner, across traditional media, digital and social media as well as on the ground initiatives both on its own and in conjunction with local NGOs.
The Sundaram Finance Group has garnered goodwill among the community over the last nearly 7 decades of its operations in Tamil Nadu. The company, that has its roots in Tamil Nadu, desires to assist the authorities in helping the people of Tamil Nadu to overcome their fear and hesitancy around vaccination through this Public Service Programme.
